Assistant Laundry Manager

About the role

The Assistant Laundry Manager supports the Laundry Master in overseeing the daily operations of the shipboard laundry facility. This role ensures that all linens, uniforms, and guest textiles are processed efficiently, meet quality standards, and are delivered to the appropriate departments on time.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the crew members working in the laundry and coordinate daily workflow.
• Monitor and maintain laundry equipment, including dryers, washers, and ironing stations, as part of a preventative maintenance program.
• Inspect finished products and dryer performance daily to ensure correct temperature, lint removal, and quality.
• Coordinate with Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and other divisions to sort and prioritize linen, tablecloths, napkins, and uniforms.
• Set wash formulas, cycles, and temperature settings for different types of linen and soil levels.
• Handle guest‑related laundry issues, resolve problems promptly, and escalate when necessary.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized work environment.
• Prepare and submit daily inspection reports to Executive Housekeeper and First Engineer as required.

Required profile

• Minimum two years experience as an Assistant Laundry Master or equivalent in a 4‑ or 5‑star hotel, cruise ship, or upscale hospitality environment.
• Proven ability to lead and manage a laundry crew.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and good judgment for operational and guest‑related situations.
• Understanding of shipboard laundry processes and coordination with multiple departments.
