Night Housekeeper (Cruise Ship)

About the role

The Night Housekeeper ensures high‑quality cleaning, smooth housekeeping operations, and excellent guest service throughout the night on a cruise vessel. Working closely with the Chief Housekeeper, this role oversees night‑time activities, monitors guest satisfaction, and maintains service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Housekeeper in managing night‑time housekeeping, room service, and laundry operations.
• Patrol all vessel areas, address issues promptly, and ensure standards are upheld.
• Handle guest orders efficiently and update the Guest Recovery Log.
• Monitor guest satisfaction, review comment cards, and act on feedback.
• Conduct random checks in public areas, toilets, launderettes, and rooms to maintain cleaning standards.
• Prepare daily handover reports for the Chief Housekeeper and Butler Manager.
• Maintain and update the Silver Compass system and other operational logs.
• Supervise work schedules, attendance records, and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Lead training sessions for night staff and maintain employee records.
• Prepare cruise reports, manage complaint logs, and liaise with HR on personnel matters.
• Perform equipment inspections, update maintenance logs, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently during night hours.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with guests, crew, and management.
• Ability to supervise a team, manage schedules, and handle administrative tasks.
• Commitment to maintaining high service and cleanliness standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Silver Compass housekeeping system.
• Experience using a Time and Attendance application.
• Knowledge of USPH logs, IPM logs, and maintenance log procedures.
• Familiarity with in‑suite services, amenities, and shipboard systems.
