Assistant Front Desk Manager

About the role

The Assistant Front Desk Manager supports the Guest Services team by delivering industry‑leading service to guests and ensuring smooth front‑desk operations. This role combines hands‑on guest interaction with team leadership, coaching, and performance monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and motivate a front‑desk team to achieve high guest‑service standards.
• Coach, train, evaluate and track individual and team development.
• Handle guest services at the desk, including lost luggage, cash services, safety‑deposit boxes, lost‑and‑found, printing, Sea Pass card issuance, and ship announcements.
• Proactively address guest feedback, resolve issues, and maintain key performance indicators.
• Maintain detailed knowledge of guest ratings, comments, and service metrics.
• Ensure the team is empowered to deliver prompt, exceptional service.

Required profile

• Minimum one year supervisory experience in a hotel, cruise line, or related hospitality setting.
• Strong interpersonal skills with discretion, patience, tact and diplomacy.
• Ability to communicate effectively with managers, shipboard and shore‑side staff.
• Flexibility to adapt to a changing work environment and fleet‑wide placement.
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational education preferred.

Required skills

• Computer literacy and ability to navigate various software packages.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Working knowledge of standard office equipment.
