Senior Electrical Technician / Panel Builder

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Technician and Control Panel Builder to join our team. The role involves designing, assembling, and testing custom electrical control panels and related industrial equipment, reporting to the System Integration Group Production Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Lay out and build custom control panels such as motor control centers, PLC panels, marshaling panels, and heater power panels.
• Interpret industrial panel layout drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics and bills of material.
• Identify and select appropriate components including wires, fuses, breakers, terminals, switches and pilot lights.
• Perform in‑process and final quality checks, including continuity, resistance, dimensional inspections and factory acceptance testing.
• Maintain as‑built documentation and update engineering drawings with redline mark‑ups.
• Prepare and manage quality documentation such as test reports, calibration records and installation manuals.
• Utilise hand tools and equipment for panel fabrication and assembly.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience in industrial control panel manufacturing or a related field.
• Familiarity with UL508A, NEC standards and hazardous‑area electrical equipment is a plus.
• Experience with mechanical and laser engraving systems is a plus.
• Working knowledge of wiring, conduit and pneumatic tubing systems.

Required skills

• Reading and interpreting panel layout drawings, point‑to‑point wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Performing continuity, resistance and dimensional testing.
• Conducting factory acceptance testing.
• Using hand tools such as drills, wire strippers, crimpers, sheet‑metal knockouts, jigsaws, wrenches and screwdrivers.
• Knowledge of UL508A and NEC electrical standards.
• Handling hazardous‑area rated equipment.
• Operating mechanical and laser engraving equipment.
• Working with wiring, conduit and pneumatic tubing.
