Engineering Technician – Lean Manufacturing

About the role
The Engineering Technician will support continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment by analyzing workforce, facility layout, and operational data. The role focuses on applying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze production costs, flow charts, schedules, and facility layout to optimize worker and equipment utilization.
- Collect data and conduct engineering studies such as waste evaluation, time studies, value‑stream mapping, process capability analysis, and control charts.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Lean Manufacturing practices across all processes.
- Recommend and execute methods to improve worker efficiency and reduce material and utility waste, including job redesign and workstation relocation.
- Lead or support Kaizen events, provide training, and administer 5S and My Kaizen Idea programs.
- Work independently or as part of project teams on special improvement projects.
Required profile
- Associate’s degree in engineering or a scientific field (Bachelor’s preferred).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong statistical and mathematical aptitude.
- Technical writing ability.
Required skills
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Experience using Minitab and AutoCAD.
