Remote Bookkeeper & Project Accountant – Construction

About the role

We are seeking a remote Bookkeeper / Project Accountant to manage financial operations for a high‑end design‑build firm. You will own project and company finances, ensuring accurate records, timely invoicing, and clear financial visibility for leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Record and categorize all transactions in QuickBooks and internal trackers.
• Prepare and send client invoices, follow up on overdue balances.
• Process vendor and subcontractor invoices, verify work completion, and coordinate payments.
• Perform regular bank and credit‑card reconciliations and monitor cash flow.
• Track job costs against budgets using Google Sheets and Monday.com, and generate per‑project financial reports.
• Prepare monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cash‑flow summaries and coordinate with the external accounting firm.
• Collect timesheets, process payroll, and allocate labor costs to projects.
• Serve as the primary finance contact for clients, vendors, and internal teams.
• Maintain organized digital files in Google Drive and assist with project documentation.

Required profile

• Fluent English with availability during U.S. Eastern Time business hours.
• Organized, proactive, and experienced in construction bookkeeping.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
