Chief of Party – USDA Food for Progress Project (Ecuador)

About the role

Lutheran World Relief, part of CORUS International, is seeking a Chief of Party to lead a four‑to‑five‑year USDA Food for Progress project in Ecuador. The initiative, valued at $28 million, aims to improve agricultural trade systems, strengthen sanitary and phytosanitary oversight, and align Ecuadorian agrifood supply chains with international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall vision, technical, and administrative leadership for the project.
• Manage program implementation, ensuring compliance with USDA requirements and quality standards.
• Coordinate activities among LWR staff, consortium members, implementing partners, public and private sector stakeholders, and government agencies.
• Oversee monitoring, evaluation, learning, and reporting deliverables.
• Ensure sub‑grantees and partners meet contractual terms and technical objectives.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience managing large, multi‑year international development projects.
• Strong background in agricultural trade, food safety, or related sectors.
• Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and coordinate with government and donor agencies.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
