PMO Manager

About the role

The PMO Manager will lead and govern the enterprise‑wide project portfolio for IT and Operations at Best Doctors Insurance. Reporting to senior leadership, this role ensures initiatives are aligned with corporate strategy, delivered with discipline, and provide transparent reporting to executives. The manager will also act hands‑on, directly overseeing high‑impact, cross‑functional projects.

Key responsibilities

• Own and manage the enterprise‑wide project and portfolio management function for IT and Operations.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Project Managers and Business Analysts.
• Establish and enforce standardized PMO methodologies, templates, governance frameworks, KPIs, dashboards, and reporting processes.
• Prepare and deliver executive‑level presentations, portfolio updates, roadmaps, and board‑ready summaries.
• Directly manage select strategic projects, ensuring scope, schedule, quality, and budget compliance.
• Align corporate strategy with the IT roadmap and operational objectives.
• Partner with executive leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders to drive prioritization and execution.
• Identify, track, and mitigate project and portfolio risks, dependencies, and impacts.
• Lead portfolio planning, demand intake, prioritization, and capacity/resource planning.
• Promote a culture of disciplined execution, transparency, governance, and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, IT, Management or related field.
• 5–10+ years of progressive experience in project, program, or portfolio management.
• Proven leadership of PMO teams, Project Managers and Business Analysts.
• Hands‑on experience delivering complex IT and operational initiatives.
• Strong executive communication skills and bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
• PMP certification (required).
• Ability to create high‑quality dashboards, KPIs and executive reports.
