Shrimp Senior Research Scientist

About the role

The Shrimp Senior Research Scientist will apply advanced scientific expertise in shrimp nutrition and health to drive innovation for new feeds, formulated diets, and nutrition‑based solutions. Working within Cargill’s Global Strategic Marketing & Technology organization, the role supports both in‑system and in‑market teams by generating, analyzing, and interpreting complex experimental data.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and execution of shrimp nutrition and health research plans aligned with business objectives.
• Independently manage laboratory, pilot, and field experiments, including protocol development, execution oversight, statistical analysis, and reporting.
• Analyze high‑volume data sets to support product development and research decisions.
• Develop and improve research methods, analytical approaches, and technical capabilities.
• Collaborate with R&D, marketing, commercial, and operations teams in a global matrix environment.
• Build and manage external collaborations with universities, suppliers, CROs, and start‑ups.
• Communicate progress and results to internal and external stakeholders, including presentations at scientific conferences.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or higher in Animal Science, Aquaculture, Nutrition, Biology, or a related field.
• Minimum of four years of progressive scientific research experience.
• Strong knowledge of experimental design, statistical analysis, data interpretation, and research standards.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Demonstrated capacity to work independently on complex projects.
