Senior FreeCAD Engineer - Remote

About the role

We are looking for a Senior FreeCAD Engineer to join our remote team on a contract basis. The successful candidate will create, modify and validate detailed parametric CAD models using FreeCAD, ensuring they meet project specifications and manufacturing requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimize mechanical assemblies in FreeCAD, applying best practices for component integration.
• Apply GD&T and DFM principles to guarantee manufacturability and quality.
• Produce clear technical drawings and documentation for engineering review and downstream processes.
• Conduct engineering QA reviews of CAD models and drawings, identifying and communicating issues.
• Utilize Python scripting to automate repetitive modeling tasks (preferred).
• Collaborate with project stakeholders, providing feedback on model accuracy and design intent.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering, product design or related field with a focus on parametric CAD modeling.
• Advanced proficiency in FreeCAD or an equivalent parametric CAD platform.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, GD&T and DFM.
• Proven ability to generate comprehensive technical drawings and documentation.
• Experience performing engineering QA and verifying model compliance.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills for remote collaboration.
