Senior Controller – Consumer Industry

About the role

Howard Financial, a fast‑growing back‑office solutions provider, is seeking a hands‑on Senior Controller to lead its consumer‑industry accounting portfolio. You will act as a technical accountant, people leader, and strategic partner for a diverse set of clients.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full accounting cycle and manage month‑end/quarter‑end close processes.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals.
• Drive AI and automation initiatives to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort.
• Serve as the primary accounting contact for consumer‑portfolio clients, building relationships and presenting financial results.
• Oversee accounting operations across the consumer industry portfolio, ensuring consistency and accuracy.

Required profile

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including hands‑on controller or senior accounting leadership roles.
• Deep knowledge of the consumer industry (CPG, retail, or related sectors).
• Proven experience implementing accounting automations or AI‑driven process improvements.
• Strong client‑facing and communication skills.
• CPA preferred; ERP proficiency required.
