Finance Director – Strategic Finance Lead

About the role

Devsu is seeking a Finance Director to act as the strategic finance lead for the company. This senior position will own financial visibility, planning and decision support across all business units while ensuring compliance with local and international regulations. The role is fully remote, serving Ecuador and the broader LATAM region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the monthly close process for multiple entities, preparing balance sheet, P&L and cash‑flow statements.
• Ensure compliance with Ecuadorian accounting, tax and labor regulations and maintain alignment with U.S. GAAP.
• Coordinate with external accountants, auditors and tax advisors in both Ecuador and the United States.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting and long‑term financial planning, building and maintaining robust financial models.
• Provide insight on client profitability, cost structure, margin optimization and capital allocation.
• Identify financial risks and opportunities, supporting strategic initiatives such as pricing, expansion and efficiency projects.
• Design and implement cost‑control frameworks, improve reporting clarity and strengthen internal controls through automation and AI.
• Support cross‑border structure optimization and tax efficiency in collaboration with advisors.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of progressive finance/accounting experience, preferably in multi‑entity or international environments.
• Deep knowledge of Ecuadorian accounting and tax regulations and working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Proven experience in FP&A, financial planning, modeling and analysis.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to translate numbers into strategic decisions.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.
• Preferred: Master’s degree, experience in software/tech services, valuation work, or exposure to M&A and fundraising.
