Senior Backend Engineer Tech Lead (3‑4 month contract, remote)

About the role

FullStack is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer Tech Lead to join a US client’s team on a 3‑4 month remote contract. You will work closely with designers and engineers, driving architecture decisions and delivering high‑performance backend solutions for mobile platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of Backend‑for‑Frontend (BFF) services and API middleware.
• Collaborate daily with cross‑functional team members to align on product goals.
• Define and enforce architectural standards, micro‑service patterns, and event‑driven workflows.
• Integrate AI tools such as LangChain or LlamaIndex into backend pipelines.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and ensure reliable deployments on AWS.
• Represent the engineering team in client‑facing meetings and coordinate with external vendors.

Required profile

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 2+ years in technical leadership influencing architecture.
• Advanced English communication skills.
• Completed four‑year college degree.
• Proven experience delivering large, complex systems in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Required skills

• Node.js and TypeScript.
• AWS services: EC2, ECS, Lambda, ElastiCache, S3, CloudFront.
• MongoDB and backend deployment pipeline optimization.
• Salesforce OCAPI/API, CMS‑driven content management, mobile third‑party integrations.
• Design and security of scalable microservices and event‑driven architectures.
• AI development tools (LangChain, LlamaIndex) and agentic workflows.
• CI/CD, Git, and Agile/Scrum practices.
