Lead Engineer – Azure Data (Remote, Ecuador)

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Engineer – Azure Data to design, deploy and manage cloud‑native data platforms on Microsoft Azure. The role is fully remote and based in Ecuador, reporting to Algoworks’ global engineering team. The candidate will lead technical delivery, mentor engineers and ensure secure, scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and manage Azure‑based data platform solutions in production environments.
• Build and maintain secure, scalable Azure infrastructure and networking components.
• Manage and optimize Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters.
• Develop and automate CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools.
• Write automation scripts and cloud utilities using Python or another programming language.
• Troubleshoot production issues and ensure platform reliability, security and performance.
• Mentor engineering teams and drive cloud engineering best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• 10+ years of IT experience with strong expertise in Microsoft Azure.
• Hands‑on experience deploying and managing production workloads on Azure.
• Strong knowledge of Azure Networking, including Private Link, DNS Zones, VNets and Private Endpoints.
• Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
