Junior Data Scientist – Hybrid (Quito/Guayaquil)

About the role

The Junior Data Scientist will join an agile squad in Ecuador, working three days on‑site in Quito or Guayaquil and two days remotely. Reporting to the AI & Data Science Lead, you will apply statistical analysis and machine learning techniques to solve business challenges such as customer segmentation, churn prediction, policyholder behavior, text analytics, and next‑best‑action recommendations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform statistical analyses and develop predictive models using Python.
• Write and execute custom SQL queries to extract and prepare data.
• Design, implement, and deploy robust machine‑learning models.
• Identify patterns and trends that improve product efficiency and usability.
• Collaborate with business partners and stakeholders to deliver data‑driven outcomes.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience with Python, SQL, and Jupyter Notebook.
• Proven experience in data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
