Governance Consultant

About the role

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is seeking a senior Governance Consultant to support its Country Office in Ecuador. The role focuses on advising and delivering strategic, technical, and operational support for governance and institutional strengthening initiatives, including public sector modernization, transparency, and digital government solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and technical assistance for lending and non‑lending operations, including technical cooperations and grants.
• Coordinate high‑level policy dialogue with ministries, control bodies, procurement agencies, and justice institutions.
• Track implementation progress, identify risks and bottlenecks, and propose mitigation actions across the governance portfolio.
• Contribute to periodic reporting, lessons learned, and dissemination of results focused on sustainability.
• Mentor incoming colleagues and support cross‑institutional coordination.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in public administration, public policy, economics, law or a related field.
• Extensive experience in governance, public sector reform, or institutional strengthening.
• Proven ability to work strategically with government stakeholders and international partners.
