Exploration Manager

About the role

The Exploration Manager will lead the day‑to‑day execution of exploration, environmental and development studies at the Santa Barbara Gold‑Copper Project in Zamora‑Chinchipe Province, Ecuador. Reporting to the VP Exploration, the role combines technical oversight, team leadership and stakeholder communication to ensure safe, efficient and compliant field operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, oversee and execute exploration programs, plans and budgets in collaboration with senior management.
• Design work‑plans and schedules for drilling, geological logging, mapping, surface geochemical sampling and field sampling crews.
• Supervise on‑site activities, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance and adherence to company, government and industry best practices.
• Manage drill programs, including diamond core and RC drilling, and coordinate with contractors and technical teams.
• Collect, record and QA/QC‑verify geological, geochemical and geophysical data.
• Train, mentor and inspire junior geologists and technicians.
• Prepare technical and progress reports for the Vancouver leadership team and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mineral exploration leadership, preferably in porphyry or similar large‑scale projects.
• Strong background in supervising drilling and field sampling operations.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to safety, environmental standards and regulatory compliance.
