About the role

We are seeking an Accounting and Tax Assistant to join our finance team at ECUAKAO, a cacao processing company based in Guayaquil, Ecuador. The role supports daily accounting operations, tax compliance, and audit preparation, contributing to the smooth financial functioning of the business.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit IESS (social security) reports.
• Validate accounting roles and ensure accurate bookkeeping.
• Support IVA (value‑added tax) declarations and manage income‑tax withholdings.
• Process tax refunds and maintain related documentation.
• Provide supporting documents for internal and external audits.
• Maintain inventory records and assist with audit inventories.
• Execute transactional operations using SAP or other ERP systems.

Required profile

• Knowledge of Ecuadorian tax regulations and accounting principles.
• Experience in handling payroll, tax filings, and audit support.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with financial data.
• Effective communication skills in Spanish.
