Chief of Party – USDA McGovern‑Dole Food for Education Project

About the role

Corus International is seeking a Chief of Party to provide strategic leadership and overall management for the USDA McGovern‑Dole Food for Education project in Ecuador. The role will oversee the design, implementation and scaling of school‑feeding, literacy, nutrition and WASH interventions, and will serve as the primary liaison with USDA and key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the design, implementation and consolidation of the McGovern‑Dole Food for Education project.
• Act as the primary liaison with USDA and coordinate with public, private and non‑governmental partners.
• Engage senior government officials to ensure alignment with national priorities and advocate for the program.
• Ensure high‑quality project delivery meeting donor expectations for results, timelines and budget.
• Oversee integration of programmatic and operational functions, including adherence to MEAL policies.
• Lead and manage senior staff, providing coaching, mentorship and professional development.
• Monitor and mitigate risks, ensuring staff compliance with safety and security protocols.
• Conduct regular site visits in Ecuador to oversee implementation and stakeholder engagement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading large‑scale development projects with donor funding.
• Demonstrated ability to engage senior government officials and diverse stakeholders.
• Strong experience in project management, budgeting and results‑based reporting.
• Experience overseeing multi‑sector interventions such as school feeding, nutrition and WASH.
• Ability to lead senior teams and foster a positive work environment.
