Software Engineer – Elixir/Phoenix (Remote, Latin America)

About the role

Bluelight is seeking a Software Engineer with strong expertise in Elixir and the Phoenix framework to join its rapidly expanding remote team serving clients across Latin America. The role offers the chance to design and deliver high‑performance backend services while collaborating with product managers, designers and fellow engineers in a fast‑paced, agile environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain reusable, high‑throughput backend systems and APIs using Elixir and Phoenix.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate product requirements into scalable services.
• Own features from specification through implementation, testing and release.
• Write unit and integration tests, conduct code reviews and uphold a high‑quality code culture.
• Identify performance bottlenecks, fix bugs and continuously improve scalability, fault tolerance and reliability.
• Stay current with Elixir ecosystem trends and best practices.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative, agile team.
• Passion for continuous learning and delivering reliable, scalable systems.
