Senior Network Engineer – Hybrid Cloud (GCP) Contractor

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and operate hybrid cloud networking environments that connect on-premise infrastructure with Google Cloud Platform. This 6-month contract role is fully remote and supports a fast-paced technology client focused on reliable, scalable digital products.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain hybrid networking architectures linking on-premise systems with Google Cloud.
• Manage GCP networking components such as VPCs, VPNs, Interconnect, load balancers, and firewall policies.
• Troubleshoot complex networking issues including routing, DNS, load balancing, and connectivity.
• Build and manage networking infrastructure as code using Terraform.
• Design secure network segmentation and firewall strategies.
• Improve network reliability, observability, and operational efficiency.
• Automate networking tasks through scripting and infrastructure automation.

Required profile

• Proven experience with Google Cloud networking.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, and load balancing.
• Hands-on experience with GCP networking services.
• Experience with Terraform or similar IaC tools.
• Solid troubleshooting skills across multi-layer network environments.
• Understanding of network security principles.
