Mechanical Engineer – CIP Plant

About the role

The Mechanical Engineer will ensure the reliability, availability and integrity of the CIP plant’s mechanical assets. You will lead strategic maintenance, drive equipment engineering optimisation and manage continuous‑improvement projects to support safe, efficient and cost‑effective production.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and supervise preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance strategies, prioritising actions by criticality and risk.
• Lead reliability analyses (RCA, criticality studies, life‑cycle assessments) to increase MTBF and reduce MTTR.
• Assess mechanical condition of assets and define renewal, replacement or modernization plans.
• Identify operational constraints and mechanical improvement opportunities to boost plant availability and capacity.
• Manage mechanical modification projects from concept to commissioning, ensuring scope, schedule, budget and technical specifications are met.
• Evaluate innovative technologies, materials and solutions to enhance equipment performance and extend service life.
• Prepare OpEx and CapEx budgets with the Maintenance Manager and monitor financial variances.
• Conduct technical‑financial analyses for investment projects, including ROI and life‑cycle cost.
• Ensure compliance with corporate safety standards, LOTO, JSA, HAZOP and risk‑management procedures.
• Develop, update and standardise maintenance procedures, work instructions and OEM‑based technical specifications.
• Promote continuous‑improvement initiatives through operational indicators and lessons learned.
• Lead, develop and evaluate supervisors, planners, mechanics, welders and contractors, fostering technical competence and safety culture.

Required profile

• Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent technical background.
• Proven experience in plant mechanical maintenance and reliability engineering.
• Strong knowledge of preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance methodologies.
• Ability to conduct root‑cause and life‑cycle analyses and translate findings into actionable plans.
• Experience managing large‑scale mechanical projects, budgets and cross‑functional teams.
• Familiarity with industrial safety standards (LOTO, JSA, HAZOP).
