Software Engineer Semi Senior – Hybrid – Quito

About the role

We are looking for a Semi‑Senior Software Engineer to join our hybrid team in Quito. You will work on robust banking applications that serve thousands of users, leveraging modern cloud technologies and a culture of continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance high‑quality banking applications following strict standards and deadlines.
• Define and implement early‑stage automated tests to ensure solution stability.
• Conduct peer code reviews to enforce best development practices.
• Build microservice‑based and RESTful architectures using clean design principles.
• Resolve incidents, fix defects, and provide operational support for successful production releases.
• Participate in story estimation, refinement, and agile ceremonies with the team.
• Maintain up‑to‑date technical documentation within project management tools.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer covering the full development lifecycle, CI/CD, and comprehensive quality assurance.
• Strong background in backend development with Java (Spring Boot).NET, Python or Go.
• Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as Angular, React, React Native or Flutter.
• Experience with microservices, REST APIs, SOLID principles, OOP, TDD and design patterns.
• Knowledge of test pyramids, unit testing and API automation (e.g., Karate).
• Hands‑on with Docker, Kubernetes, Azure DevOps, Git and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
• Proficiency in databases and event streaming: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Kafka.
• Agile tooling experience with Jira, Confluence, Scrum and Kanban.
