Head of Resident Coordinator Office (until 31 August 2026)

About the role

The United Nations Resident Coordinator Office (RCO) in Ecuador is seeking a senior professional to lead the office until 31 August 2026. The Head of the RCO will support the Resident Coordinator and the United Nations Country Team (UNCT) in delivering sustainable development outcomes aligned with the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Key responsibilities

• Manage the office’s resources, ensuring efficient support for analysis, strategic planning, programming, financing, communications, advocacy and partnerships.
• Provide high‑level advice to the Resident Coordinator on all functional areas of the UN development system.
• Ensure the quality, timeliness and relevance of the office’s deliverables.
• Coordinate closely with the UNCT and national stakeholders to align UN activities with country development priorities.
• Oversee reporting, budgeting and administrative processes for the RCO.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in managing multi‑disciplinary teams within an international development context.
• Deep understanding of the UN development system, the 2030 Agenda and SDG implementation.
• Strong leadership and advisory capabilities, with a track record of delivering results in complex environments.
• Excellent communication and partnership‑building skills.
