Fullstack PHP Developer – Magento 2 & WordPress (Remote, Latin America)

About the role

Bluelight is looking for a versatile Full Stack PHP Developer with deep expertise in Magento 2 and WordPress. You will take technical ownership of client digital ecosystems, ensuring stability, performance, and seamless integration across platforms while working remotely from Latin America.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and stabilize existing Magento 2 instances.
• Manage WordPress integrations, custom themes, and plugins.
• Audit, inherit, and optimise legacy codebases, reducing technical debt.
• Deploy updates and new features using staging‑to‑production workflows.
• Optimize MySQL queries and caching layers (Redis, Varnish, Elasticsearch).
• Implement and maintain REST/GraphQL connections to external ERPs, CRMs, and marketing tools.
• Handle Linux‑based server environments (Nginx/Apache) and ensure PCI‑compliant security.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with Magento 2.x architecture and WordPress custom development.
• Proven ability to work with legacy code and document inherited systems.
• Strong command of modern PHP (8.x) and OOP principles.
• Solid understanding of database performance and caching strategies.
• Frontend competence with HTML5, CSS (SASS/LESS), JavaScript and Magento’s frontend stack (Knockout.js, RequireJS).
• Experience integrating APIs (REST, GraphQL) and managing DevOps pipelines.
• Security‑first mindset, familiar with PCI compliance, Magento patching, and WordPress hardening.
• Optional: Adobe Certified Professional (Magento) or similar credential.
