Backend Engineer (Elixir) – Remote

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer specialized in Elixir to join our fully remote team. You will design and build high‑performance, real‑time backend services using the Phoenix framework, applying functional programming principles to deliver scalable, fault‑tolerant solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain robust APIs and backend services with Elixir and Phoenix.
• Implement data persistence, complex queries and migrations using Ecto and PostgreSQL.
• Create interactive real‑time features with Phoenix LiveView and OTP patterns.
• Architect concurrent systems employing GenServers, supervision trees and BEAM best practices.
• Optimize code for performance, reliability and maintainability.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver distributed production systems.

Required profile

• 4+ years of backend engineering experience with a focus on functional programming.
• Proven expertise in Elixir and the Phoenix framework.
• Deep knowledge of OTP, GenServers and the BEAM virtual machine.
• Strong experience with Ecto and PostgreSQL.
• Hands‑on experience building real‑time interfaces using Phoenix LiveView.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
