Software Engineer (SDET) - Test Automation

About the role

ioet, a software company with a team across LATAM providing Software Engineering as a service to clients worldwide, is looking for a Software Engineer who will act as an SDET, with testing as the main responsibility. The role involves designing, developing and maintaining test coverage across a wide range of products and features. Positions are full-time, paid in USD, and remote.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain test automation scripts for web applications.
• Work with engineers and project managers to design and implement integration tests for new features.
• Take part in developing, deploying and maintaining QA processes, tools and supporting technologies.
• Help turn business requirements into technical requirements, acceptance criteria and test plans focused on coverage, performance and automation.
• Identify process improvements, error trends and root causes, and recommend solutions.

Required profile

• 2+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer in Python.
• 2+ years of experience with TDD or similar testing-first approaches.
• Experience in test architecture, test design patterns and building scalable test solutions.
• Knowledge of coding standards and best practices such as SOLID and clean code.
• Hands-on experience with Selenium, Playwright, Appium or Cypress.
• Familiarity with CI tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline and/or Travis.
• Strong English communication skills (minimum B2); CV and application must be in English.
• Fast learner, strong problem-solving skills, proactive and collaborative with cross-functional and distributed teams.
