Software Engineer – Product Development

About the role

The Software Engineer will apply a systematic approach to develop, deliver, maintain and operate software products and services. Working closely with product and technical teams, the role focuses on translating customer needs into high‑value solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Participate actively in all SDLC activities such as planning, stand‑ups and story grooming.
• Develop code using Test‑Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration (CI) practices.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Owners, QA, Experience Design and other technical staff to refine requirements and designs.
• Pair‑program with junior and senior developers and contribute to complex stories as a team member.
• Write programs that follow Sovos coding standards and maintain documentation.
• Triage and resolve simple engineering escalations and troubleshoot bugs within your area of expertise.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 6‑12 months of professional software engineering experience.
• Ability to interact effectively with teammates, customers and to communicate complex concepts.
• Willingness to travel minimally to Sovos locations and events.

Required skills

• Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) awareness.
• Test‑Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration (CI) practices.
• Experience with databases, SAP or web development technologies.
• Familiarity with Sovos coding standards and at least one Sovos application.
