Software Engineer – Elixir/Phoenix (Remote, LATAM)

About the role

Bluelight is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join its rapidly growing consultancy team. This remote position focuses on building high‑performance backend services for clients across the United States and Latin America. You will work in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment where continuous learning and quality are paramount.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain reusable, reliable backend systems and APIs using Elixir and the Phoenix framework.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to translate requirements into scalable services.
• Own features from specification through launch, ensuring clean code and smooth releases.
• Write unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews, and uphold a high‑quality code culture.
• Identify performance bottlenecks, fix bugs, and continuously improve scalability and fault tolerance.
• Stay current with Elixir ecosystem trends and best practices.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in an agile, collaborative team.
• Passion for building reliable, scalable systems and continuous personal growth.
