Senior Full Stack Java Engineer (Java + Angular) – 6‑Month Contract

About the role

You will join Applaudo’s product development team to deliver new features for a mature, customer‑facing application. Working in a 6‑month contractor model, you will own end‑to‑end development across a modern Java 21/Spring Boot backend and an Angular frontend.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and debug new product features across the backend API layer and Angular UI.
• Develop and maintain RESTful services using Java 21, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, MyBatis and Liquibase.
• Implement Redis‑based caching and session‑management strategies.
• Create reactive Angular components (v14+), leveraging RxJS for state and data flows.
• Write comprehensive unit and end‑to‑end tests for critical business logic.
• Collaborate with AWS services (S3, ECS, CloudWatch, Bedrock) for storage, deployment and observability.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and communicate risks, complexity and timelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong background in Java 21 and Spring Boot patterns.
• Hands‑on experience with Angular (v14+), RxJS, and modern front‑end practices.
• Proficiency writing SQL for PostgreSQL, including joins and indexing.
• Experience with ORMs such as MyBatis or Hibernate.
• Familiarity with Redis caching or pub/sub in production.
• Practical experience with AWS services (S3, ECS, CloudWatch, Bedrock).
• Excellent English communication skills for a US‑based team.
