Senior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to lead accounting activities for our client portfolio in Quito. The role involves managing the chart of accounts, reviewing monthly entries, and delivering accurate financial statements and managerial reports.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update the chart of accounts.
• Review monthly accounting records for correct account allocation.
• Control import liquidations, inventory costing, and related inventory processes.
• Verify tax withholding percentages for income tax and VAT.
• Check supplier payments for consistency and completeness.
• Perform bank reconciliations and review reconciliation workpapers.
• Prepare closing workpapers and balance‑sheet accounts.
• Analyze client financial statements and generate financial balances and managerial reports.
• Review payroll calculations, social security contributions, loan amortizations, and reserve funds.
• Ensure compliance with tax filings, monthly and annual, and sign related declarations.
• Coordinate responses to regulatory bodies such as the Superintendence of Companies, SRI, DINARDAP, and municipal authorities.
• Train and supervise accounting assistants and maintain both physical and digital filing systems.
• Communicate continuously with client personnel and prepare monthly work schedules.
• Participate in candidate selection, special consulting projects, and tax refund assignments.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of professional accounting experience.
• Proven ability to supervise staff and manage client relationships.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills in Spanish and English.
