Resilience Technical Advisor – Quito

About the role

The Resilience Technical Advisor will serve as the focal point for delivering the Mainstreaming Resilience Initiative in Quito. Reporting to the Deputy Regional Director for Latin America, the role works closely with the Resilience, City Finance and Climate Budgeting teams to support the city’s climate adaptation and water‑safety efforts.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of the Mainstreaming Resilience Initiative in Quito.
• Engage and coordinate with municipal officials and local stakeholders.
• Oversee the production of technical deliverables related to climate resilience and water‑safe solutions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate resilience considerations into city finance and climate budgeting processes.
• Contribute to the broader C40 Climate Resilience and Water Safe Cities programmes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in climate resilience or urban adaptation projects.
• Familiarity with municipal finance, budgeting and climate‑related planning.
• Ability to work effectively with city officials and multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Strong analytical and coordination skills.
