Project Assistant – Field Operations

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Ecuador is seeking a Project Assistant to support field operations. Working under the Field Coordinator and Local Field Coordinator, you will provide essential administrative and logistical support to ensure smooth implementation of migration‑related projects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide general and clerical assistance for project activities, including data retrieval, compilation, summarisation and presentation.
• Assist in monitoring and updating project budgets.
• Coordinate administrative actions with internal units and external partners, securing clearances and processing requests.
• Draft status reports, correspondence, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations and other documentation.
• Organise meetings, workshops and training sessions.
• Respond to information requests, maintain files and records.
• Operate official IOM vehicles as required.
• Perform any other related duties assigned by supervisors.

Required profile

• School diploma with at least three years relevant experience, OR a bachelor’s degree in political/social sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields with at least one year relevant experience.
• Valid national driver’s licence.
• Experience liaising with government authorities, UN agencies, NGOs and other stakeholders.
• Experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking or other vulnerable groups.
• Previous work with international humanitarian or development organisations.
