Programme Officer – Quito, Ecuador

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Programme Officer to join its Ecuador team. The role supports the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of child‑rights programmes, working closely with national and local partners to improve outcomes for vulnerable children.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance for programme design, planning and implementation.
• Manage programme funds efficiently and ensure compliance with UNICEF financial guidelines.
• Monitor and evaluate programme performance, producing data‑driven progress reports.
• Promote rights‑based and results‑based approaches across all interventions.
• Build national and local capacity for sustainable programme delivery.
• Advocate for child rights at national, community and family levels.
• Coordinate partnerships, facilitate collaboration and oversee territorial monitoring of implementing partners.

Required profile

• First‑level university degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Public Administration, Public Policy, Social Development or a related field.
• Minimum of one year of relevant professional experience.
• Demonstrated commitment to a rights‑based, results‑oriented approach.
