Program Management Office Manager

About the role

The Program Management Office (PMO) Manager will lead and continuously improve the enterprise project portfolio for IT and Operations at Best Doctors Insurance. This hybrid position requires three days a week on‑site in Quito or Guayaquil and focuses on aligning initiatives with corporate strategy while delivering disciplined, transparent results.

Key responsibilities

• Own and manage the enterprise‑wide project and portfolio management function for IT and Operations.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Project Managers and Business Analysts.
• Establish and enforce standardized PMO methodologies, templates, governance frameworks, KPIs, dashboards, and reporting processes.
• Prepare and deliver executive‑level presentations, portfolio updates, roadmaps, and board‑ready summaries.
• Directly manage select strategic projects, ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, quality, and budget.
• Align corporate strategy with the IT roadmap and operational objectives.
• Partner with Executive Leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders to drive prioritization and execution.
• Identify, track, and mitigate project and portfolio risks, dependencies, and impacts.
• Lead portfolio planning, demand intake, prioritization, and capacity/resource planning.
• Maintain documentation repositories, compliance standards, and audit readiness.
• Drive maturity improvements in project, program, and portfolio management practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, Management, or a related field.
• 5–10+ years of progressive experience in project, program, or portfolio management.
• Proven leadership experience managing PMO teams, Project Managers, and Business Analysts.
• Hands‑on experience delivering complex IT and operational initiatives.
• Experience working in matrixed organizations with executive stakeholders.
• PMP certification (PMI) required.
