Principal & Senior Full Stack Engineer – AI Agent Platform

About the role

Workday’s AI Agent Engineering team is looking for senior engineers to design and build next‑generation AI‑powered tools that automate HR and finance workflows. The Principal Software Development Engineer will set the technical vision, while the Senior Software Development Engineer will deliver high‑impact features in a fast‑moving, agile environment.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain full‑stack applications for the AI agent platform.
• Lead technical decisions and guide the team toward scalable, high‑quality solutions.
• Mentor junior and senior engineers on design patterns, code reviews, and testing practices.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of features from specification through production operations.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and data scientists to translate complex requirements into technical specifications.
• Research and integrate emerging technologies to keep the platform at the cutting edge.

Required profile

• 12+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 7+ years with Python web frameworks such as Django or Flask.
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience with React and TypeScript.
• 8+ years working with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Proven track record building and scaling SaaS products on AWS.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
