Principal Investigator – CGI

About the role

The Principal Investigator – CGI will lead investigative efforts for fraud and claims across AIG’s operations in Ecuador. This role combines field investigations, evidence handling, and collaboration with legal and compliance teams to ensure thorough, timely, and accurate case outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate investigative techniques and resources, including fieldwork, cognitive interviews, and external resources.
• Gather facts through open‑ended interviews and statements from witnesses, claimants, and other relevant parties.
• Obtain and preserve physical and documentary evidence to support investigations.
• Prepare objective, concise written investigation reports.
• Identify and record financial impacts for cases in the case management system.
• Develop and deliver fraud training for various AIG business lines.
• Conduct targeted claims reviews for all domestic lines of business.
• Maintain professional relationships with insured parties, lawyers, corporate employees, vendors, police, and fraud bodies.
• Testify and present evidence in administrative and criminal court proceedings.
• Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure investigations adhere to regulations and company policies.
• Provide analytical insights into fraud trends to improve future investigations and mitigation strategies.
• Leverage emerging technologies such as data analytics, AI, and advanced fraud detection systems.

Required profile

• Strong investigative experience with ability to conduct interviews, evidence collection, and report writing.
• Ability to work closely with legal, compliance, and law‑enforcement partners.
• Analytical mindset to identify fraud trends and support continuous process improvement.
• Willingness to work primarily onsite in an office environment.
