Portfolio Management Officer – Financial Sector

About the role

IDB Invest is seeking a Portfolio Management Officer to support the monitoring of a portfolio of non‑sovereign guaranteed loans and guarantees to private‑sector financial institutions across Latin America and the Caribbean. The role involves regular and ad‑hoc performance analysis, risk identification, and the development of solutions to maintain the financial health of the portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor a portfolio of non‑sovereign guaranteed loans and guarantees to banks, micro‑finance and specialized financial institutions.
• Conduct regular and ad‑hoc analysis of counterpart performance, identifying risks, breaches and contractual events.
• Propose and implement corrective actions to resolve identified issues.
• Prepare and present performance reports to internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Delivery Units and the Industries and Cross‑Cutting Themes Department to support upstream pipeline development.
• Ensure compliance with IDB Invest’s contractual and risk‑management frameworks.

Required profile

• University degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
• Experience in loan portfolio monitoring, risk assessment or financial analysis.
• Familiarity with financial institutions, including banks and micro‑finance entities.
• Ability to work in a multi‑country, multi‑disciplinary environment.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
