LLM Engineer (Tools) – Remote

About the role

Join a leading global tech services firm as an LLM Engineer focused on building tools that connect large language models with external systems. You will create and maintain Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers that enable secure, context‑aware interactions between AI models and real‑world APIs.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and operate production‑grade MCP servers for LLM tool access.
• Implement and optimise tool‑calling logic and function schemas using Python or TypeScript.
• Build robust API integrations that allow AI models to execute multi‑step actions.
• Leverage Anthropic SDKs to create agentic workflows and standardized communication protocols.
• Define tool discovery mechanisms and ensure reliable context‑aware model interactions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to integrate external data sources and improve tool‑driven response performance.

Required profile

• 4+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on AI or LLM applications.
• Proven expertise in designing and implementing MCP servers or similar tool‑calling architectures.
• Fluency in Python or TypeScript for backend services and API integration.
• Strong experience with the Anthropic SDK and connecting models to external data sources.
• Solid understanding of JSON schema design for function signatures and validation.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
