Liner Assistant – Shipping Operations

About the role

The Liner Assistant supports the smooth execution of ocean freight shipments for Inchcape Shipping Services in Ecuador. You will work closely with customers, internal teams, and vessel operators to ensure accurate documentation and timely service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain shipment tracking reports.
• Process customer bookings accurately and within agreed timelines.
• Prepare and submit Shipping Instructions (SI) and draft Bill of Lading (BL) documents.
• Handle BL amendments, corrections, and coordinate documentation transfer to the Documentation Department.
• Maintain effective communication with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless shipment execution.
• Enter and update shipment information in designated systems promptly.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience in freight forwarding, customs, shipping, or logistics.
• Experience in containerized sales, freight logistics, or the LATAM/reefer market is a plus.
• Strong understanding of international trade, global logistics, and supply‑chain operations.
• Advanced communication skills in English; Spanish fluency preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Maritime, Business, or related field desired but not mandatory.
