Fullstack PHP Developer – Magento 2 & WordPress (Remote, LATAM)

About the role

Bluelight is looking for a versatile Full Stack PHP Developer to take technical ownership of client digital ecosystems. You will work remotely across Latin America, ensuring the stability and performance of Magento 2 stores while integrating and maintaining WordPress sites.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and optimise existing Magento 2 codebases, addressing technical debt.
• Develop, customise, and support WordPress themes and plugins.
• Implement seamless deployments and manage staging‑to‑production workflows.
• Integrate Magento and WordPress with external ERPs, CRMs, and marketing tools via REST/GraphQL.
• Monitor and tune database performance, caching layers (Redis, Varnish, Elasticsearch).
• Ensure security compliance, including PCI standards and WordPress hardening.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with Magento 2.x architecture and WordPress development.
• Proven ability to inherit, audit, and optimise legacy code.
• Strong command of PHP 8, OOP, Composer, and PSR standards.
• Solid understanding of MySQL optimisation and high‑performance caching.
• Frontend competence with HTML5, CSS (SASS/LESS), JavaScript and Magento’s Knockout.js/RequireJS stack.
• Experience with Git, Linux (Nginx/Apache) server environments.
• Security‑first mindset; knowledge of PCI compliance and Magento/WordPress security patches.
