Founding Sales Engineer – Remote SaaS Startup

About the role

We are seeking a Founding Sales Engineer to become the technical backbone of a fast‑growing SaaS startup that is building the next generation Partner Relationship Management platform. This is a long‑term contractor position, fully remote, with a focus on supporting complex sales cycles and establishing the Sales Engineering function from scratch.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery throughout the sales process, identifying integration, CRM, and success criteria.
• Design, scope, and execute tailored proofs of concept and custom demo environments.
• Own RFPs, RFIs, security questionnaires, and architecture discussions, creating reusable response libraries.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality technical responses.
• Ensure a structured handoff from Sales to Customer Success, documenting technical requirements and staying involved through onboarding kickoff.
• Deliver tailored demos for both technical and executive audiences.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a technical sales or sales engineering role within SaaS environments.
• Ability to work independently and build a new function from the ground up.
• Strong collaboration skills with Sales, Product, and Customer Success teams.
• Comfort with remote work and overlapping U.S. (PST) business hours.
