Finance Director (Strategic Finance Lead)

About the role

Devsu is looking for a Finance Director to lead its financial operations and act as a strategic partner to leadership. This is not a traditional accounting role: you will own financial visibility, planning and decision support across the company, ensuring financial accuracy and helping shape its financial direction. The position is 100% remote and based in Ecuador and LATAM.

Key responsibilities

• Own the monthly close across entities and prepare the balance sheet, profit and loss and cash flow statements.
• Ensure compliance with Ecuadorian accounting, tax and labor regulations (primary) and U.S. GAAP, and coordinate with external accountants, auditors and tax advisors in Ecuador and the U.S.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning, and build financial models to support growth decisions.
• Provide insights on profitability by client/service line, cost structure and margins, cash flow and capital allocation, and support pricing, expansion and efficiency initiatives.
• Design cost control and financial discipline frameworks, improve reporting and internal controls through automation and AI, and support cross-border structure optimization and tax efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• 3+ years of finance/accounting experience with increasing responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of Ecuadorian accounting and tax regulations (required) and working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Experience managing multi-entity or international financial operations.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.
• Nice to have: master's degree in Business Administration with a focus on Finance, valuation experience, background in software/tech services, direct support to executives or founders, and exposure to M&A, fundraising or financial structuring.

• Proven experience in financial planning, modeling and analysis (FP&A).
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling.
• Ability to connect numbers to business decisions.
