Finance Controlling Specialist – Aviation

About the role

We are looking for a highly analytical finance professional to join DHL Aviation’s regional Center of Excellence. The specialist will own the end‑to‑end aviation operating costs accounts payable process for multiple entities across the Americas, ensuring accurate invoicing, reporting and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily data interfaces and integrations between Airpas, Basware and SAP, monitoring workflow approvals and resolving system blocks.
• Audit high‑volume EDI and paper invoices, validate them against contracts, flight activity and operational data.
• Identify and resolve billing discrepancies, communicate with operators, service providers and vendors, and monitor vendor statements to avoid aged balances.
• Generate and validate accounting entries, prepare manual journal entries when required, and support tax‑related transactions such as VAT and withholding tax.
• Assist month‑end close activities including accruals, tax provisions, account reconciliations and management reporting.
• Prepare and analyse monthly aviation cost reports, track cost trends and support financial analysis.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with a finance‑driven approach.
• Experience handling large‑scale invoice processing and interface management.
• Good understanding of tax regulations applicable to aviation operations.
• Excellent communication skills for vendor and stakeholder interaction.
