Counter Documentation Executive – Shipping Operations

About the role

Pacific International Lines (PIL) is seeking a detail‑oriented Counter Documentation Executive to join its Guayaquil office. You will be the main point of contact for import and export documentation, ensuring shipments move smoothly and customers receive accurate information.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end import and export processes from customer reception to cargo release.
• Handle Electronic Cargo Release Letters (ECAs) and related documentation.
• Issue, correct, and retransmit Bills of Lading and other shipping documents.
• Maintain organized physical and digital records of all shipment paperwork.
• Coordinate with terminals, bonded warehouses, and logistics clients.
• Control seal inventory and support timely invoicing of charges.
• Monitor and resolve shipment exceptions in the LMS system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Logistics or a related field.
• Customer‑service experience in the shipping or logistics industry.
• Knowledge of Ecuadorian customs regulations.
• Familiarity with Ecuapass, Mesa de Servicios, Quipux and Nathalia software.
• Experience managing Bills of Lading and validating cargo information.
• Basic to intermediate English proficiency.
• Understanding of Incoterms and import/export documentation.
