Cook for U.S. Embassy Marine Security Guard Residence

About the role

Viakorp Corporation is seeking an experienced Cook to provide daily food services for the U.S. Marine Security Guard Residence (MSGR) at the U.S. Embassy in Quito, Ecuador. The role involves preparing nutritious meals for Marine Security Guards while upholding the highest standards of food quality, sanitation, and kitchen safety within a secure government environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner Monday through Friday according to approved menus.
• Assist the Mess NCO with weekly grocery shopping and procurement of kitchen supplies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen, dining area, and all cooking equipment after each meal.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards throughout preparation and storage.
• Ensure meals are served on schedule with consistent quality.
• Store food properly, monitor inventory, and minimize waste.
• Coordinate with the Government Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) on meal planning and kitchen operations.
• Comply with all security requirements while working on the Embassy compound.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of professional cooking experience in a restaurant, hotel, institutional kitchen, military dining facility, or similar environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and kitchen safety practices.
• Ability to prepare a variety of healthy, well‑balanced meals.
• Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
• Effective communication in English.
• Successful completion of background and security screening for U.S. Embassy access.
