Chief Data Scientist – LLM & Conversational AI

About the role

We are seeking a Chief Data Scientist to lead the design and delivery of AI‑powered chatbot solutions using large language models. The role combines strategic vision with hands‑on technical leadership to build reliable, responsible conversational agents for specialized use cases.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with product, analytics and engineering teams to create a shopping‑assistant chatbot and define its roadmap.
• Design and refine prompt‑engineering strategies that improve interaction quality.
• Develop LLM‑based agents that call APIs, query databases and invoke external tools via function calling.
• Implement model evaluation and mitigation techniques to reduce hallucinations and ensure reliability.
• Run A/B testing frameworks to measure and continuously enhance chatbot performance.
• Apply Responsible AI and compliance principles to meet ethical and regulatory standards.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to extract insights and translate them into structured data‑engineering requirements.
• Guide cloud engineering teams on infrastructure needs for AI‑driven chatbot services.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of professional data‑science experience.
• At least 2 years of people‑management experience, leading teams of 10 + FTEs.
• Proven track record delivering LLM solutions, preferably with OpenAI APIs on Azure.
• Strong Python programming skills for building and fine‑tuning AI workflows.
• Experience in NLP, conversational AI and responsible AI practices.
• Fluent English (B2 or higher) with excellent written and verbal communication.
