Assistant Housekeeping Manager (Cruise Ship)

About the role

The Assistant Housekeeping Manager supports the Housekeeping Director in delivering high‑quality housekeeping services across staterooms, public areas and open decks on a Celebrity Cruises vessel. This role ensures daily operations meet safety, quality and guest satisfaction standards while supervising a dedicated housekeeping team.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate, schedule and supervise day‑to‑day housekeeping activities in collaboration with the Housekeeping Director.
• Direct, coach, support and evaluate the performance of all direct reports.
• Assign duties, workstations and manage staff rotations to meet operational needs.
• Conduct ten stateroom inspections daily and additional checks during embarkation.
• Maintain sanitation, SQM and safety logs in line with ISM/ISO, USPH and environmental policies.
• Prepare and present overtime requests for approval.
• Handle guest concerns professionally, ensuring timely resolution.
• Perform monthly inventory of linen, amenities and supplies.
• Oversee on‑the‑job training, cross‑training and mentorship programs.
• Manage cost containment through proper use and maintenance of supplies and equipment.

Required profile

• Proven experience in housekeeping supervision or management, preferably in a cruise‑ship or hotel environment.
• Strong knowledge of ISM/ISO safety and quality standards, USPH guidelines and environmental policies.
• Ability to lead, motivate and evaluate a diverse team.
• Excellent communication skills for guest interaction and staff briefings.
• Organisational skills to manage schedules, inventories and documentation.
