Workshop Mechanic

About the role

Wärtsilä Energy is seeking a Workshop Mechanic to join its Quito workshop. You will work on a variety of equipment, components and auxiliaries, supporting decarbonisation projects and renewable‑energy solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform technical tasks following the Workshop Team Leader’s instructions, product manuals and safety guidelines.
• Support service, repair and special projects on equipment, recording measurement data as required.
• Interact professionally with the workshop team, back‑office and customer representatives during execution.
• Report working and idle hours, as well as expenses, according to local and corporate procedures.
• Ensure compliance with Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental standards and customer procedures.
• Be available for local or overseas assignments and adhere to all applicable legal and internal regulations.

Required profile

• Mechanical engineering or superior technology background.
• Knowledge of machining processes and energy‑related applications.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and extended schedules.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
