Import & Export Documentation Coordinator

About the role

Pacific International Lines (PIL) is seeking a proactive Import & Export Documentation Coordinator to join its Guayaquil office. The role ensures smooth movement of cargo by handling all documentation, responding to customer inquiries, and coordinating with customs, ports, and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, transmit, and correct export and import shipping documents, manifests, and cargo releases.
• Coordinate with ports, warehouses, shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs authorities, and shared service centers.
• Ensure timely submission of customs references and adherence to cut‑off dates for vessel arrivals and departures.
• Monitor and resolve documentation exceptions, track outstanding revenue, and guarantee accurate invoicing.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of import/export customs regulations and ensure compliance.
• Support vessel closure processes and ensure all manifests are completed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Logistics, or a related field.
• Experience in customer service within the shipping or logistics industry.
• Familiarity with export and import customs requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under defined cut‑off timelines.

Required skills

• LMS (Logistics Management System) for processing shipment exceptions.
